Abstract

REVIEW OF RESOLUTION 12/04 ON THE CONSERVATION OF MARINE TURTLES

Call for data submissions and review papers for the Working Party on Ecosystems and Bycatch (WPEB)
In 2017 the WPEB was requested by the Commission to review the mitigation measures in Resolution 12/04 On the conservation of marine turtles as scheduled in the annual programme of work. Given the lack of available information with which to conduct the review, the WPEB13 recommended that a specific data call is carried out with a request for CPCs to submit information to the Secretariat in order to review the effectiveness of Resolution 12/04 as requested by the Commission.
To assist with standardisation of data submissions, CPCs are requested to complete the following table, including data for time/area strata where zero turtle bycatch was recorded. Data should be obtained from logbooks and/or observer programmes, where appropriate, and should cover the period 2008 to 2017, where information is available. Datasets should clearly indicate the source of data.
