Abstract

Streamer lines are the most commonly prescribed
seabird bycatch mitigation measures for longline
fisheries. However, recent evidence shows that they
are not fully effective unless combined with other
mitigation measures. To reduce bycatch to negligible
levels they must be used in combination with branch
line weighting and night-setting.
