Guide on removing entangled seabirds from nets

Entanglement of seabirds occurs across a range of net fishing gear in commercial, artisanal and recreational capture fisheries. A guide has been prepared outlining appropriate practices and procedures that would assist with the safe handling and disentanglement of seabirds from nets. This information is designed to help to maximise the chance of survival of seabirds entangled in nets, particularly threatened species of albatrosses and petrels.
