Abstract

This report summarizes the work that has been carried out to date by the Sub-Group on Electronic Monitoring Systems, (EMS) since it was originally created in 2021. We provide a summary of the main conclusions of the work that was carried out, and also a proposal with the draft minimum technical standards for implementation of EMS in pelagic longliners in ICCAT fisheries. Finally, we provide a draft response to the Commission following the request contained in ICCAT Recommendation 19-05 (paragraph 20).
