Policy Development and Knowledge Exchange

References in this category look at communication between marine scientists, policy developers and decision-makers, and how science can be better integrated into the decision-making process for the management of bycatch [e.g. 1]. Some references are about tools promoting knowledge exchange, such as the BMIS [2] or ICCAT’s bycatch meta-database [3]. Other papers are included as examples of how reviews of bycatch management issues can inform policy developers and decision-makers by identifying gaps in research or opportunities for mitigation [e.g. 4].
